December 1st, my kids start their count down to Christmas. My fireplace mantel is lined with an assortment of Christmas socks hung on a ribbon with a clothes pin numbered for each day of the countdown. The socks have either candy, some loose change, playdough, stickers or little trinkets. Let the count down begin.
