I love buttons and anything that looks like buttons. This fall at Meadow Street we will be carrying a line of button jewelry. All of the buttons in the line are vintage and will be incorporated into bracelets, necklaces, and pins. For now take a look at our “Bouton” earrings, a button shaped filigree set with crystals that inspired our button line, shown in dark red coral also available in other colors. Some of our button jewelry will have vintage mother of pearl, and other types, shapes and sizes of old buttons.

I have so many wonderful memories of birds, especially blue birds. I recently came across a web site, Sweet Annee, designed with the most beautiful vintage sketches of birds. The artist, Deena Warner makes whimsy and tattered dolls and paper goods.

Her site reminded me of my visits to see my Nana in Victoria B.C. My Nana wrote a poem when I was little for me, she would recite it to me at night before I went to bed when visiting her. Deena has graciously let me use some of her birds along with my Nanas poem.

Summer is almost over, but there is still enough to have a very romantic dinner, brunch or tea in the garden. Dress up outdoor chairs with tulle and use a beautiful brooch or rose pin to gather and secure.

Set the table with candles of various sizes and spinkle iredescent sequins around them. Enjoy it with iced sun tea and homemade ice cream topped with summer fruits.
In my yard we have a big peach tree in the middle, when the wind blows I can smell a faint peach frangrance. Soon beloved autumn will come and the tree will loose its leaves and prepare for winter.

My favorite summer sents are: Sunbolck on my children after a day in the sun. Sun kissed peaches ready to pick on my tree. Popsicles and watermelon. Fresh squeezed lemons. Cholrine on wet towels hanging to dry. I love these sents. These are the sents produced by my childrens play during summer.
