Time for a Giveaway!!

Monday, September 29th, 2008

I have been working on some new jewelry designs for earrings, bracelets, and necklaces. The line still needs to go through a few more stages, the next stage is plating. The findings I use come in raw brass and need to be plated, a process I send out for because it is impossible for me to do. Here are some picture of the pieces I am using:

The next picture is really horrible, the soldering really distorts the color.

So here are the rules for the giveaway:
Leave a comment listing your top three favorite colors to wear.
Contest ends October 30th. I am hoping to have the line finished before then but sometimes I run into delays with the plater and supplies.
I will anounce the winner November 1st. The winner will recieve a pair of earrings, a necklace, and a bracelet from my new line.

Harvest Home

Love the autumn season and decorating for it. I thought I would post a few ideas on using the rose pins for home decor. Baskets are easy to come by and to decorate. I was hoping to get some gourds and mini pumpkins for the basket but they are not in stores yet, at least around my neck of the woods. I have had this berry pick for years, this was the only decent branch worth breaking off and using.

I used some cookie cutter as a template for the leaves and traced them over vintage text book paper.

September 12-14, I am adding a stash of vintage style seam binding and a few vintage paper leaves with every purchase. A bounty of harvest colors just added to my shop.

Color Scheme

I love this color scheme. I took this picture at an antique store a couple blocks away from my house. I love how the colors work together and the contrast level. I am thinking of designing some jewelry similar to this scheme. I like how the beige works with the ivory and vintage blue. The pink I would do in a much lighter shade for the jewelry. Maybe a pale pink pearlecent , beige, vintage, and ivory enamel . Hmmm, time to get creating.

Vintage Buttons

Thursday, October 4th, 2007

I love vintage buttons and the little cards they come on too. Fifteen years ago I was in Canada visiting relatives. I went in a antique shop in down town Victoria. They had a huge glass anitique jar filled with vintage buttons. I had to buy it. I have pulled together a large collection of vintage mother of pearl, bone, ivory buttons from various estate sales and my own collection. Here is the beginning of my new button line. More will follow and will include glass, bakelite, and other types.
